Sad news from Melbourne as Supanova attendee killed in road crash

A sad incident happened in Melbourne where a young man lost his life after a car hit a group of people. Police said the boys were coming back home after attending Supanova Comic Con & Gaming at Melbourne Showgrounds.

The accident happened around 5pm on Saturday in Ascot Vale. A grey Toyota Echo was moving on Langs Road, but suddenly it went to the wrong side of the road. After that, the car went up on the kerb and then started driving on the footpath.

There were three young men, all in their 20s, walking together. The car hit them badly. One of them died on the spot. Another one got very serious injuries in his legs and his condition is critical. The third person was safe physically but he was very shocked and disturbed.

Police said the car did not stop quickly. It kept going for more than 100 metres on the footpath, which had trees around it. Then it moved almost 120 metres more before finally stopping.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Werribee, was caught by an off-duty police officer. Some people nearby also helped in stopping him. Later, he was taken to hospital and now he is under police guard.

Police are still investigating the matter. They are checking if drugs, alcohol, or over-speed was involved. They also said there is no early sign that the driver had any medical problem.

According to police, this type of accident is very unusual. The car crossed a full lane, climbed onto the footpath, and then travelled a long distance between trees, fences and poles, which is not normal at all.

Police are asking anyone who saw this incident to come forward and share information to help in the investi
